Saline Reporter Posts Story on how an iPad Changed a Little Boy’s Life

The Saline Reporter, a publication servicing Saline, Michigan and the surrounding area, posted a touching story about Taylor Parrish, a young autistic boy, whose life has been transformed by the introduction of the iPad into his daily school routine. The iPad has given him the ability to communicate effectively for the first time with those around him, and demonstrating just how much he has learned. Before the iPad, teachers and Taylor’s parents had been unable to assess how much he retained. Now it is clear that he’s a very bright boy.

Phelps had created a video of Taylor using his electronic iPad and interacting with a mainstream classroom. In the video, soon to be released publicly on YouTube, Taylor introduces himself to the class, spells his name for them, and then participates in a class discussion about a story that was just read.

Parrish watched her son on the video, and then excused herself from the room.
